(A fairy tale fusion, bringing together the world of Harry Potter with the plot of Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen. Or: in which I took a 19th century fairy tale that's surprisingly full of strong female characters, and added even more of them.)

In this excerpt, Tonks seeks the help of a powerful witch who can harness the winds.

Tonks wasn’t sure how Lyall would respond to being asked about that night. After all, her mother’s response had been unprecedentedly emotional. Lyall was Remus’s father.

Lyall seemed to be considering the question deeply. “As you can imagine, it was very upsetting. For all of us. Finding out Sirius had used my son for bait… I went off the rails. But it’s also how I learned Remus had true friends.”

“Seems like an odd time to work that out,” Remus remarked.

“There’s an odd time for everything.”

As it wouldn't be an

rt_morelove event without an extension of the original deadline, you won't be surprised to learn that this is a tradition we're already keeping up in the new year. We'd also like to think there's some more ideas and works in progress that would appreciate the extra time (like those of your mods), so now the new deadline is on Wednesday, 31st January, at midnight Pacific time. There's a full moon due that night, which makes it appropriate to bring the event to a close as Remus won't be around!

If none of the prompts have taken your fancy, or you're in search of further inspiration, we've added twelve new prompts, which you can find at the end of the list HERE.

It's been exciting to see the fics so far, and the names both old and new that have either followed or found the community on Dreamwidth. Remember we welcome new fic and art both big and small, and WIP excerpts are also welcome as long as you've used one or more of the prompts.
