Here's a recap of how prompting works for this event. For detailed community guidelines and event instructions, please see the previous post. If you have questions about how prompt submission works, please leave those questions as comments on the previous post as well.
- Leaving at least one prompt in any category is how you join the event; this will get you posting access once posting opens on Friday.
- There are three categories of prompts. Go down to the comments on this post, find the top-level comment by me (
shimotsuki) that identifies each prompt category, and leave your prompts for that category as a response to my comment. - You are welcome to leave up to five prompts in each category. You don't have to submit all five prompts at one time — you can come back and add more later. But do keep in mind that prompts submitted early in the event are more likely to be picked up by writers and artists.
- Please keep all prompts work-safe.
- When the time comes to choose prompts for your fic or art, you don't have to claim them officially here — just declare them in the header when you post (instructions will be provided). You can choose a prompt from just one, or from two, or from all three categories, depending upon how inspiration strikes!
Right, then, let the event begin!

There were shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable. Creamy chunks of nougat, shimmering pink squares of coconut ice, fat, honey-coloured toffees; hundreds of different kinds of chocolate in neat rows; there was a large barrel of Every Flavour Beans, and another of Fizzing Whizzbees, the levitating sherbet balls that Ron had mentioned; along yet another wall were ‘Special Effects’ sweets: Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum (which filled a room with bluebell-coloured bubbles that refused to pop for days), the strange, splintery Toothflossing Stringmints, tiny black Pepper Imps (‘breathe fire for your friends!’), Ice Mice (‘hear your teeth chatter and squeak!’), peppermint creams shaped like toads (‘hop realistically in the stomach!’) , fragile sugar-spun quills and exploding bonbons.

Date: 2014-04-24 11:01 am (UTC)Baby, would you marry me
under an apple tree
or the bottom of the sea
or maybe on a train to Spain
or some nice place like that?
And baby, would you marry me
on a mountain top or a traffic stop
or maybe on a boat that floats
into the great unknown?

Date: 2014-04-24 09:00 pm (UTC)2. "Another time, another place
Our temperature would climb, there'd be a long embrace
We'd do another dance, it'd be another play
Looking for romance? Come back another day
Another day
The heart may freeze
Or it can burn
The pain will ease
If I can learn
There is no future
There is no past
I live this moment
As my last
There's only us
There's only this
Forget regret
Or life is yours to miss
No other road
No other way
No day but today"
- Another Day from Rent

My clumsiest dear, whose hands shipwreck vases,
At whose quick touch all glasses chip and ring,
Whose palms are bulls in china, burs in linen,
And have no cunning with any soft thing
Except all ill-at-ease fidgeting people:
The refugee uncertain at the door
You make at home; deftly you steady
The drunk clambering on his undulant floor. ...
